Wensleydale Tournament of Song - 25 March to 5 April 2019
Festival for music, singing, poetry and prose. Staged at Leyburn Methodist Church Hall and The Garden Rooms at Tennants and programmes are available from Towlers Newsagent's. The scope and quality of the performances provide a two-week extravaganza of entertainment.
Wensleydale Wander 13 April 2019
Organised by the Rotary Club of Wensleydale, participants choose one of two walks which meander through Leyburn and Lower Wensleydale.
Middleham Stables Open Day - 19 April 2019
Lower Wensleydale is famous for horseracing. The area is the leading training centre in the North of England. The Open Day is being held on Good Friday. The event attracts thousands of racing enthusiasts from all over the country.
Dales Festival of Food and Drink - 15 & 16 June 2019
Free festival staged in Leyburn Market Place with additional events around and about within walking distance.
The Swaledale Festival - 25 May to 8 June 2019
Premier arts event of the year. A celebration of the arts with a stunning programme including classical, folk, jazz, poetry and prose. Many of the events take place in and around Leyburn and Lower Wensleydale.
Leyburn 1940s' Weekend - 20 & 21 July 2019
A weekend of 1940s' nostalgia, fun and laughter. Dancing and singing in the street and pavement theatre by Leyburn Amateur Dramatic Society. Re-enactors from all over the country choose Leyburn for a friendly atmosphere, great participation by the local community and a well-organised weekend.
Wensleydale Agricultural Show 24 August 2019
The premier agricultural event in Lower Wensleydale brings the community together in a festival celebrating the area's agricultural heretage. Something for everyone of all ages, with arena entertainment, showing classes for farm animals and categories for home baking and gardening, stalls and refreshments. There is usually an entertainment spectacular in the main arena to provide entertainment for all the family. A Dales event not to be misssed.
Bonfire Night 2019
A spectacular event lighting up the sky over Leyburn Shawl. Just a few steps from the Market Place. Pass Campbell's Supermarket and turn left at the top of the cul-de-sac. Great community spirit. Hosted by Wensleydale Round Table.
