Leyburn Tourist Information Centre is located at the Dales Haven Guest House and has more than 20 volunteers who generously give their free time to promote Leyburn, support local businesses and give visitors a warm welcome. This community spirit of the volunteers was recognised in 2012 with a 'Making A Difference' Award from Richmondshire District Council. The Dales Haven Guest House and Warland's Gallery, Tea Room & Coffee Shop fund Leyburn Tourist Information Centre. The previous tourist office was closed by Richmondshire District Council in April 2011 and since then, the new office has been run by volunteers at The Dales Haven. The guest house was chosen by the district council, with the support of the local business association, after a period of public consultation and the new office was officially recognised by the district council because of its central location and the experience of the guest house owners in tourism and voluntary public service.

Leyburn Tourist Information website is provided by The Dales Haven Guest House, which also provides a walk-in inquiry service for visitors on a purely voluntary basis. The service has been provided for seven years with the help of volunteers with no public funding. A council-funded tourist centre closed in 2011 and the Dales Haven was asked by the district council if it would volunteer to provide a service.
